For almost 10 years Lensbaby has been committed to providing fun, creative tools for photographers. They are also committed to reducing their environmental footprint. Employees are given up to 20 percent of their time to work on projects outside of the scope of their regular job responsibilities. Sustainability is one area that employees focus on.

This focus on the planet has led the company to remove two parking spaces to make room for a custom bike rack and picnic table; add bathroom towels and racks to reduce paper consumption; and source marketing and packaging materials with local printers who buy wind energy, use soy inks or are members of the Forest Stewardship Council.

“The reason we decided to enroll in Smart Energy is that minimizing the negative environmental consequences of our work is one of our company's core values,” said Keri Friedman, Marketing Manager. “The fact that NW Natural provides this option to its customers made the decision easy.”All of these good deeds have earned Lensbaby Sustainability at Work Gold Certification from the City of Portland. Recently the company joined the ranks of other environmentally responsible businesses and signed up for Smart Energy.

Thanks to Lensbaby for becoming a Smart Energy customer and helping to bring biogas to the Pacific Northwest!
